Weekly Progress #7

This week has been largely bugfixes and back-end work, as well as changing the game to full screen. There's not a whole lot to show off right now, but there is a little bit.

Notifications

The main feature of note that was finished is a notifications system. You'll now get notifications of significant events, which will be cleared after every turn. These will help keep you appraised of items needing your attention, such as new pops to manage,  and resource shortages.

Many Starvittes died to bring us these notifications.

Logging

I've had some reports of crashes to desktop, to assist in tracking those down I've turned on Godot's error logging. Logs will be created at "C:\Users<your username>\AppData\Roaming\BronzeAgeTribes\logs" If you encounter a crash, please send me know, and attach the logs. The logging is imperfect, but some information is better than none.

AI Placement

While not included in 0.1.3, I've started work on the definition and placement of the first AI tribes. These groups won't be on the same level of ability as your empire, as they lack proper political cohesion, instead they represent the smaller indigenous groups who have lived in the world for generations. In addition to Humitte tribes, this same system will shortly be used for packs of wolves, and in the future will add other "minor players". This will be the extent of AI added for Milestone 1. Proper AI empires will come some time in the future.
