Weekly Progress #13 - The Milestone that Will Not Die
What's New
Despite being stuck for a few days chasing down an infinite loop (well, hello there Imposter Syndrome) I've very nearly finished off the list for Milestone 1.
In terms of what did happen. Idle pops are now shown on their hexes, allowing you to drag them off to available jobs.
In order to test this, I added the ability to demolish buildings and development. Demolishing takes 1 turn and the building/development, freeing up space for alternative construction.
Lastly, when constructing a development is blocked by a feature on a tile (such as trees for a thicket), the development options that you could place are shown in the list, but greyed out and referencing the blocking feature.
What's Next
I'm currently working on some AI improvements so they act more reasonable, including farming if they are so inclined. That should be done today, and a biome rework should be done early next week. I have a large chunk of time off next week (from my day job) as well, so I expect to get started on Milestone 2 as well.
Milestone 2
The main goal of Milestone 2 is adding characters, much as they were in Bronze Age 3. These characters will be assigned to court positions much like they were previously. Assignments will give bonuses to your empire, and new skills for your characters. Along with this will come legitimacy mechanics (again largely lifted from Bronze Age 3), which will give a social cost to some actions such as expanding settlements.

Ah, searching endlessly for a single bug; I've done that too many times. But you're almost there, so don't worry!
