Weekly Progress #2
Weekly Progress
Another productive week, starting out with pop movement. Pops are moved by dragging them from one slot to another. Dragging a pop off of their current job shows all of the other jobs they can move to. Placement is limited by both how far the pop can move, and the distance to the center (average position) of the tribe.
Pops don't produce any resources the turn that they move.
Speaking of resources, I put a lot of time into improving tooltips this week.
And there's a new view (opened by clicking on a tribe name in the list), that shows a representation of the tribe and current pop growth. Those buttons to the side don't do anything now, but in the future they'll help you manage tribes and settlements.
As hinted by the UI, pop growth is now in as well. Advancing turns increases growth progress, once it reaches 100% a new pop is placed.
Coming Up
I'm currently working on adding interaction options for pops working tiles that have features (forests, fertile soil, etc). Allowing them to change those features (such as cutting down forests). This will pave the way for constructing developments. Developments will be the core of how you progress your tribe, building lumber camps, farms, mines, and eventually urban centers.
Next week I also hope to get started on starvation, where if you don't produce enough food your pops will become injured and die. That's the last feature I have slated for Milestone 0.
